A resounding succsess

Following our recent Chinese New Year celebrations here in Warrington, have been many positive comments and requests for further Tai Chi and Qigong information. In total we performed two demonstrations and even held a mini workshop during the short time we had.

The first of which was with a small team who performed the 18 movements of Tai Chi Qigong brilliantly, and warmly appreciated by the many spectators. The second routine was an individual demonstration by myself of the short Chen taiji routine, which again was very warmly applauded.

Shortly following this, I did a mini workshop specially for the children, this was carried out in front of all the delighted parents. This was a performance of the Eight section Qigong Exercise routine (Ba Duan Jin) now considering that the children who participated (3-10 yrs) had never done these exercises before turned out to be fantastic, well done to those children!

I would like to thank those parents who agreed to their children participating in the mini workshop, resulting again in many positive comments and appraisals, needless to say that the mini workshop, and the day as a whole being a resounding success.

Proposed New Childrens Tai Chi Class

As a result of the work with the children at the celebrations today, I am asking parents who are interested in their children learning Tai Chi and Qigong to please contact me with a view to starting a brand brand new Tai Chi class. This will be in the Warrington area after school, or early evening and will be dependent on venue availability and interest shown. Please leave your expression of interest

Year of the Dragon: Symbol of power

Each year Chinese New Year falls on a different date, for 2012 it will fall on 23rd January. Legend has it, how the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac came to be. One such legend tells how all 12 animals wanted to be the leader. So the only way to settle this was to race across the river, with the first to reach the other side becoming leader. They jumped in and swam as fast as they could towards the other side. Each year to be named after each animal in the order in which they finished: rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, chicken, dog and pig. The ox would have been first but the cunning rat sat on his back and jumped off onto the opposite bank just before they arrived and therefore won the race. The purpose of the Chinese horoscope is to give information about a person’s character and talents.

Shibashi movement number 3:- Rainbow dance

Tuesday nights I will now be teaching the wonderful Qigong practice for health called Shibashi (18 exercises of Tai Chi ~ Qigiong).

Combining gentle opening and stretching exercise movements with natural deep relaxed breathing that help to get rid of used air from within the body while taking in fresh air and Qi. If you are new to the Chinese way to health and fitness, or new to exercise in general, are looking to improve or enhance existing fitness practices, or looking to rehabilatate from work or sports injury then Shibashi practice is for you.
